30" Grate

I needed to upgrade my grate from a small 24" to the largest grate possible for my fireplace. When I called Woodland they went out of their way to find the one I wanted. I asked since I live locally to them if I could pick it up on my way home from work. They said they normally ship but would let me pick it up from their lobby. When I arrived it was all set and ready to go. I really appreciated their customer service. The grate is heavy duty and works great!! Thanks Woodland!

Vestal 30" Grill

The 3-1/2" clear-span clearance beneath the grill makes shoveling ash easier but the tight spacing between the grates collect ash on top, however, using fire starter sticks or duraflame type bricks is easier with the tight casted grates. The low profile front provides excellent view of the firewood when burning but logs can roll over the low profile rear if you're not careful when pushing the logs together. So far, I'm still pleased with this grate.

I was looking for a solid fireplace grate using the usual methods and either they weren't well made, not the right size or style and were expensive. Found Woodland Direct and immediately found exactly what I was looking for and the price was so "right". Ended up ordering two as another cabin had one with a broken leg. Customer Service was excellent in helping place my order and in tracking shipment and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. Definitely will work with Woodland Direct again.

Fireplace Grate

We purchased this for our patio fireplace. It arrived in a timely manner and looks fantastic. Good solid quality, It fits perfectly in our fireplace. We like the narrower (front to back) grate to keep fire in the back. The width still leaves a small space on each side. It’s summer in California still so we have not burned on it. But the thickness and quality appear to be the kind that will hold up well to hot fires in our future.

The finish could be a little better lots of sharp edges but it fits the fireplace well and from a functionality standpoint is great. Made in the USA which is what I was looking for.

This grate is by far the heaviest grate that I could find. Most grates that I looked at were about 5/16" thick. The 1/2" thick material should give years if not decades of service. I would strongly recommend this grate to anybody!

30" Vestal Fireplace Grate

I have a river rock masonry fireplace and have been using 24-26" grates. The Vestal is working wonderfully, I'm extremely happy with the larger grate. The cast iron seems solid and so far is holding up very well. (We have a lot of fires) Shipping was in a timely manner. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Thicker

Heavy duty grate. I bought a cheaper grate 2 years ago and the ribs started to break off after the first year. This one has thicker metal and I am hoping it last longer than the other

Solid one piece construction. This thing is strong and should last a lifetime. Great height for air flow. If I had one desire it would be offered with a ember mesh screen option. Otherwise, its grate! 👍

High quality

My wife loves it. Heavy duty and high enough to set above a gas pipe that we use to start the fire. May be a little too high for the logs to sit directly in the ashes for additional heat.

Very good quality cast iron wood burning grate.

Cast iron is the only way to go for high heat grate material whether in a grill or a fire place. Steel will eventually warp and be worthless.

Excellent fireplace grate 30 inch

Love this grate and is the perfect size for my fireplace. I have endured for years a grate that was 27 inches and I wish I had upgraded to the 30 inch a long time ago. It holds the wood perfectly and helps prevent ‘loosing’ a log off of the back side into the ashes. Cleaning out the ashes is much easier as well because the larger grate is easier to work around than my previous one. Made with top quality materials and crafted very well. Love it!!!
