This one is the second one I have to replace the one I purchased that warped. I aM still using the warped one so when I move I don't have to replace the replacement one.

Vestal 24" Grate

The new Vestal 24" grate uses the same casting mold as an earlier version that lasted 15+ years before the center of the grate failed from heat. The heft of the new casting, however, is less than the original, suggesting that less metal was used. This one, therefore, may last only 10.

The grate was very poorly packaged. It arrived broken in several places, with two of its legs poking through the cardboard box. I have photographs.

24" vestal

well my first order of this proved awful. after 2 fires the grate was warped and cracked. In speaking with the extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, we decided to give it another try and I was shipped a direct replacement, free shipping! I have burned 2 very hot fires and happy to report...so far so good ! 5+ stars for customer service. 4 for the grate as the first one failed. Can't say enough about excellent customer service. Such a pleasure to speak with knowledgeable staff...kudos !!

This is the perfect grate for a wood burning fireplace that has a gas line inside the firebox. Clearance is just right, and the looks are wonderful as well! This an awesome grate, and the price is right.
