Vacu-stack + adapter review

We attached vacu-stack to chimney and even though our chimney needs to be put a few feet higher next spring, the vacu-stack and adapter has helped tremendously with the down draft. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

The chimney cap works well and solved the problem. The cap did not fiit snuggly into the adapter. I would like to see the cap clipping into the masonry adapter with a partial twist, like the stainless steel pipe sections. It would make it easier to take off for cleaning.

Vacu-Stack Adapter

I purchased this to go along with my Vacu-Stack cap. It's well made. I'm from Canada but was able to do a pick up at their warehouse just across the border. Their customer service was excellent. I was greeted at the warehouse with a smile and asked if I had any questions about installation. If I had any suggestions for improvement of this product it would be to have a lip around the edge of the adapter so water doesn't run back to the chimney. Also, I think it would be better if the cap fit over top of the adapter instead of inside it. The manufacturer suggests caulking the connection but I have to clean my chimney from the top which means I have to strip and reapply new caulking everytime I clean my chimney. Overall it is a good product.

Not size right

I had my chimney guy come try to install this adapter that was suppose to fit a 8x8 flue tile. We found out it was about a 1/4" too big. We made some modifications to make it fit just to get it done and not have to deal with shipping it back and waiting for a new one.

Vacu Stack

I received this device very quickly. It's well made, super easy to install. Haven't actually built a fire in the stove but I'm looking forward to testing it out. Thanks

Adapter

Adapter was warped due to metal stress. Did not lay flat on top of chimney pipe. Had to fill void with chalk.

I have a 13 inch flu chimney the locking rod was only 12 inches it should have been 14and 2/3 inches I got a piece of threaded rod and fix it and using sealant to hold together it ok but hard to take apart it would better with screws would be a good option 180 degrees apart maybe 2 or 4 the screens are easy to install

Chimney cap

Have used heatrolla worked good till have any wind . It would back up into house and would outen fire. Put in vacu-stack chimney cap works great even in strongest winds.

Very easy installation. Fit tightly on a 8 inch masonry flue. Looks good.
