Portable Grill

After 2 hours of modifications I rate it a 4, otherwise I would give it a 2. Here is why, the V type grill grate left 3/4 inch incinterated black lines on the steak, Not eye appealing not appatising and not properly seared just 50% black. So I removed the grate and spent 2 hours bending every V up so food contact aria was apx. 3/16 wide now I am able to get a good sear without burning the meat. So if you are willing to eather modify or change the grid I think you will like it. I grill out allot and found a $10.00 TV tray put the grill at a nice comfortable hight.

Great grill! I replaced a Solaire Everywhere with this grill and the performance is exactly what I was looking for. I use it only for steaks as the searing is perfect. i highly recommend this grill for steak lovers.

Over priced piece of crap

Wish I could return it

It arrived in the mail fairly quickly. Setup was straight forward except there were parts missing, specifically a screw and washer needed for one of the side handles so I can't pick up the grill until it is cooled down completely. Realized later I needed special screws and washers made to withstand the intense heat. Still have no way of getting the extra screw and washer needed. On a different note, didn't realize the space between the grill top and lid was so tiny. Filet mignons and even ribeye steaks are too thick to allow the lid to close properly. Additionally, after the first use, the lid warped from the heat. It eventually improved but warps each time I use the grill. As for heat it produces and the quality of the grill it produces, it's top of the line.

I grill. A lot. After years of grill use with standard gas, I researched infrared and found the Solaire portable. After cooking a variety of food on this, I can confidently say this is the best grill I’ve ever used! Even budget steaks turn out great because of the sear. I grilled shrimp skewers that melt in your mouth. And purchasing from Woodland Direct, I got my new favorite grill for significantly less than a popular online retailer.
