Olde World Iron Wood Holder

Very attractive and functional. Suede log carrier lifts out from iron base and seems very sturdy. This is exactly what I was looking for. Not surprisingly it is made in China, but isn't most everything these days.

Old World Charm but wears

This is as good as it looks in the picture. Its heavy and feels like it is well made. Has old world charm with its simple design. The leather carrier that comes with it is in a rough (almost suede looking) cognac color. Its large and holds several pieces of wood and its easy to handle with its small/large handles. Unfortunately the metal gets dinged up very easily. The hot poker firewood mover bumped into the metal holder and scraped off the black heavy varnish to reveal raw silver looking metal. We tested that move again in a less visable spot and the same thing happened. The black paint or varnish that covers the stand comes off incredibly easy, gets dinged, etc. That's ok with us though, its still a nice piece and it adds to the look of it.

Wood Carrier/Holder

The holder is great and it holds alot of wood. The carrier is not so great. The handle started to rip and it torn and it happened within the first two weeks. The carrier doesn't fit the holder very well.

A Great Fireplace Accessory at a Great Price

The Olde World Iron Wood holder with Leather Log Carrier was on my son-in-law's wishlist for Christmas. The item was seen in the Plow and Hearth catalog from which I had purchased many previous fireplace accessories. In attempting to purchase the item on line from Plow and Hearth, I received an automatic pop-up which included the same item with prices from other vendors. Woodland Direct's price was more reasonable and less than that listed by Plow and Hearth. THe item when received was exactly as detailed on the web site, required essentially no assembly and the curved ends of the iron holder were attractive. My son in law put this item into service 2 days after he received it and is extremely pleased with the appearance and the performance of this product.
