A really clever contraption! We heat the house with a wood stove and hearth cook in the fireplace: a lot of ash - the ash collector works perfectly to scoop a lot of ash - hot or cold - close tight and keep ash from being everywhere - then easily transporting to the can outside. The only thing better than the ash collector is Woodland Direct's customer service: the first collector arrived defective: they replaced it quickly, at no cost and it's perfect!!

I am very pleased with our No Mess Ash Box so far. It has greatly reduced the amount of ash dust in the house. It is sturdy and easy to use, and a secure way to carry ashes out of the house.
