The fan for this unit needs to be hardwired to your electrical system by a certified electrician.

Can this unit be installed in an existing fireplace?
A:
This unit could be installed into an existing masonry fireplace if desired, as long as vented properly when installed. Always check with your local inspector to make sure the desired installation complies with local codes.

Does it produce any heat for your home?
A:
This is a radiant heat fireplace so it would not provide any more heat than a masonry wood burning fireplace. The air circulating version of this fireplace would push more heat into the home and would be more efficient.

Does this fit into an existing masonry fireplace?
A:
It can be placed into an existing fireplace if desired, but is intended to be placed into an existing combustible wall.
Q:
In the measurements, what is the difference between "actual" and "framing."
A:
The framing dimensions are what the inside of the framing pieces will need to be for the fireplace to properly mount to it because of the spacers to leave proper air insulation around the firebox. The actual dimensions are the measurements of the firebox not including those spacer pieces.

Customer support was excellent; fireplace arrived as scheduled and was as presented. Of course since this is south Florida we have not used yet. This was a replacement for an old TruHeat unit. The sale person (Jeremy) was helpful in getting a close fit and only minor adjustments to the original opening were required.
