I have ordered the Fatwood for my father-in-law for several years. He loves it! This year, our elderly (90's) neighbors found out about it and I orderd it for them too. Not only is it an excellent product, the transactions are always smooth and shipping is rapid!!

Wow, never used this stuff before. and since Woodland had the best price I thought I'd give it a try. And yes it's much better than kindling. it gives you the good starter flame you like to get from crumpled newspaper but doesn't go away in 10 seconds like newspaper does. I'd buy it again.Thanks Woodland

I like the design of the product. It's construction is solid. But I don't think it's built to the proper specs -- there are four holes to nowhere and four spare screws without even any bolts. So either the directions aren't clear, I'm missing parts, or Woodland needs to work closer with its suppliers to ensure quality.

Better than newspaper

Very first fire started without any problem. Great not to use newspapers and eliminate the soot and smoke that comes with it.

Great Product. Just getting to use it for the first time here in VA now that the temperatures are getting cooler and the nights offer more pleasant breezes in front of our outdoor fireplace. Great Fire Starter

These are great fire starters. They function just as described and burn long enough to get dry wood started. I typically use 2-3 sticks to start a 3-4 log pile. Only con is that it some times take a fair amount of lighter flame to actually get the stick(s) going. I have begun to use one one piece of newspaper under them to ignite them.

Fatwood Firestarter

This is a must-have for anyone who regularly builds wood fires in their fireplace - unless you have an Eagle Scout in your family. It only takes 2-3 pieces to get a roaring fire - so use sparingly. No need for splitting kindling if you have these.

Some of the best I've ever used. Lights almost with a spark!! Takes about 2 seconds with a match and it's off and burning. I use about 4 sticks to start my fires. Great starter wood AND kindling all rolled into one. Fresh and fat!! Plenty of sap.

Purchased a 10lb bag of fatwood, the fatwood I received would not burn. I tried multiple pieces with no success. I am familiar with using fatwood as I have collected and used it in the woods many times. I am very disappointed with this product. I am currently waiting for a new batch for an exchange.

This is the first time I am using something other than kindling wood. We have a wood burning stove and use it as the primary source of nice warm heat. What a pleasure to put some small pieces of wood with 2 or 3 pieces of the fatwood in the stove to get the fire going. I also use 2 of the fire starting blocks and the fire gets going quickly. What a pleasure as compared to all the newspapers and lots of kindling to get the stove going. .

It starts the fire well.

I'm not sure what to write about, what is, essentially a box full of sticks. This is my first box of sticks. If someone would of told me 20 yrs ago I would order a big box of sticks delivered to my home, I would call them crazy. They burn like good wood should and start up the fire quickly.
