Sassafras gas logs

We are very pleased with the realistic appearance of the fire created with these logs, and the 'glowing embers' feature makes it even more life-like. it was very convenient to view the various log fires in action on youtube.com. no heat escapes up the chimney now, and we love the way these logs have 'cozied' up our family room.

Vent Free Sassafras Gas Log

Very pleased with my purchase. I would caution on who you have install. I hired a plumber who indicated he had installed multiple gas log sets but obviously no "vent free." After a few usages the pilot light kept going out. Turned out he had set the logs in the wrong locations (diagrams were hard to follow) and was blocking the pilot light causing it to overheat. Once installed properly, set works fine.

Sassafras Vent Free Logs

We are very pleased with the aesthetics of this log set. Wish I had gotten the remote control for it because the ignition process is proving to be a hassle. This may be because the person who installed it positioned the set so that a log rubs into the control knob. Additionally, working the pilot button and turn knob at the same time requires that I get both hands involved. I get it lit, but there's always a gas smell hanging in the air. I am not upset with your company at all, but the gas smell is worrisome and mars the otherwise happy purchase. Can the remote be purchased after instillation?

I purchased this set to replace a box store set in operation for over 6 years and mainly because I wanted a remote control feature. Pros: Overall log and burner quality, heat output, appearance Cons: Turn down ratio is limited, instructions were difficult to follow, remote is not calibrated well and doesn't work as well as my other remote I would recommend this set to others

Excellent Customer Service

I purchased the sassafras log set from empire with manual controls. The shipping was extremely fast. When I received the items I realized the log set wouldn't fit my fireplace because my gas line sticks out too far and hits the manual controls. I contacted woodland and they quickly ordered the millivolt control set. Then they sent me a return shipping label to send the wrong set back. About a day after I shipped the wrong set back I received the new one!! I was able to install it myself and it works great. This log set is very realistic and looks just like a real fire. I can't wait to start using it this winter. Overall I am very happy with my purchase from woodland. I will definitely be purchasing more from them. What they did is just apply the amount I paid for the manual control set to the new one that was ordered and then charged me the difference for the millivolt model.

Shipping was quick. Installation was straightforward and fairly simple. The burner control is on the left end of the burner which does make it wider than the nominal size of the log set.
