Loose attachment

I was very pleased with the promptness of the shipping, but after the logs were installed, there was a strong smell of propane in the room. The installer came back and checked your unit. There was a piece on the unit that had not been tightened down properly, causing the leak. The installer discovered it and tightened the connector, fixing the problem. Since then it's been fine.

The unit I purchased is a nice unit with great looking logs. However, the pilot is difficult to start other than that it seems to be a fine value and the price was affordable. If you have experience with these units it's a must and Woodland Direct is the place to get it. Thanks for the service

My products are fantastic, except one of my ignition systems does not work and my calls have not been returned. I would like that on piece replaced. Other than that I am very satisfied.

Purchase of gas Log Set

Sales and initial communication part of process was very good - a 5. However, when my licensed plumbers installed the log set, the pilot would not stay lit. Called Woodland while the plumber was here and talked to a man who contacted the manufacturer and patched him in to call so all three could speak together. Manufacturer didn't want to be bothered and said was a defective thermal coupling and would send part out. Subsequently, I received a call from Woodland asking about the problem and indicating it would be some time before part sent. I strongly demanded that a part be sent in express mail. Received the part within some days. Once we realized had logs that would not work, service experience became poor. What a shame.

Good value

It has been a great replacement set for our fireplace. My only complaint is that the heat difference between setting 1 and 3 is almost unnoticed. I'd like to be able to set it lower sometimes.

Empire Flint Hill Ventless

Vey nice fire place. It heats so will that we have the flame set on the lowest setting. My only disappointment was that I was told ashes to place around the base came with the kit and in fact did not. My own fault for not calling customer service yet. Simply to busy. Other wise, easy installation. Can't wait to add the remote. Ron

Flame hieght

Got my logs very fast but when installed the control valve would not adjust. When the logs were lit the flame would not adjust. Impire was very slow to return any calls or emails and it took over 3 weeks to get a replacement valve. When the valve was replaced by the tech there was no change to the flame height no matter what number the control knob is on. I would not buy another set of these logs

18" ventless

The fireplace is fine. Because it's ventless, it gets my hearth hot when on medium. When I was having problems w/lighting it, was shifted between you to manuf, nobody claiming responsibility. Christian is ncie guy, but didn't return call. Might be a good idea to remind folks that the control starts on the hole on L side, not at top. Simple, but I forgot from dealing with one prior. Must turn all to L, not straight up and down.

flame control inoperable

While the log set is beautiful we cannot adjust the flame setting. It is very high, which causes us to turn the logs off when we would rather have them on. If you have a fix for this please let us know. thank you.

Ventless Log Set

I normally don't do reviews but this one deserves a good one. I shopped and researched for a very long time. Worried about the odors and CO2 inside. This was the best thing we purchased for our new home. Thought real hard about getting the vented type to go with our current fireplace. Very pleased not having our heat just escape up the chimney. Zero CO2 and the odor for the new log set was very small. Picked Woodland Direct just in case I needed support after our purchase. Everything was easy, no problems installing.

Fireplace with Wall-Mounted Wireless Remote

The fireplace is efficient and effective for heating and looks great. The wall-mounted wireless remote that I purchased with the fireplace is very convenient to have. It doubles as a wireless remote or a wall-mounted remote because it can be removed from the wall mount. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this product.

Odor / Pilot light noise

This is the third house we've installed gas logs. This one is ventless propane while the other ones were ventless natural gas. The pilot light in this model is very loud with a higher flame? The logs heat well but the burn/heat smell is too much. I thought it would go away after three to four hours of burnin, but it still has a strong smell while burning. We hope it goes away soon as we want to use it often this coming winter.

I ordered the Empire Flint Hill Vent Free Ceramic Log Set with optional remote. The online ordering process was easy, the system was delivered promptly, and it was easy to install (by certified HVAC). System looks great and seems to be running as well as hoped.

Overall very nice

(30" size logs, Highest BTU unit) The look is very good, fairly real looking. I added the optional lava rock and burnt embers at the base. The manual gas valve setting shows to the 9 O'clock position when intuitively you would think the settings would show up at 12:00 the way the knob looks, so it has fooled some users. It has a louder gas rush noise than a different brand I have in another fireplace, but it does a good job. Throws the heat we needed in the living room.

The unit came quickly. The customer service was terrific. The unit came with a broken log which after some hastle with getting serial numbers and scanning pictures, we received a replacement log. This log was also broken in delivery. We then understood that these logs were made out of ceramic fiber. We then decided to purchase a different set with ceramic logs. The fiber ones are lighter but more fragile.

Best Look for the Money

I was very frustrated that the fireplace in my new home could only accommodate a 16" log set. Customer Service at Woodland Direct helped me find a beautiful set at a reasonable price. The flames come out in 2 places, have the burning ember bits and I opted for the convenient wall switch (remotes tend to get lost in my busy house). I love that you can pick and choose options to get exactly what you need. They said shipping would take 3 days and it arrived in 2. So pleased with this company. :)

I am very pleased with the quality of these fire logs. I like how they sit high in the fireplace, giving the appearance of more logs and a bigger fire. They are very realistic, especially with the added little burned log pieces. The heat is as expected and odor free. What a pleasant way to spend a evening- before the fire!

I just had the Flint Hill Ventless Log Set installed a few day ago. Loving it so far! The logs have a nice look and the flame is better than I expected, No smell on initial start up, and easy for the plumber to install. For the price point, I highly recommend this unit.

Flint Hill Review

I do not have very much experience with gas fireplace appliances, however, I find the unit that I chose underwhelming. This unit provides a lot less flame than I was expecting. The positioning of the logs is not very intuitive, nor do the logs actually cover the gas pipe entirely once properly installed. The biggest challenge I had was installing the new gas line to fuel the unit. If I could do things over again, I would order a bigger unit with all the bells and whistles instead of a more basic unit. I'm sure this unit does exactly as advertised, but I should have gone bigger.

Excellent Gas Logs

The logs fit great, light quietly and fast and heat well. The millivolt system worked perfectly with my existing theromstat. The only down side were the logs. They seem to be very cheap and one was broken on delivery. Other than that the price was reasonable and shipping was fast.

It’s okay

This log set is not nearly as sturdy as our old one… feels a little flimsy. It is beautiful and fits great in our firebox, a realistic look! We have a very small firebox and this was the only set that would fit. If we had other options, we may have returned this and chosen something different.

AMAZING!

After reading the reviews for this LP logset, I decided to proceed with the purchase. I was impressed with immediate communication via email. Additionally , I spoke with a rep named Chuck, he was very attentive and answered all my questions. He even sent me an email to follow up and that I needed anything to contact him. The log set arrived ahead of schedule. It had all of the pieces in the carefully packaged box. I ordered a remote and some lava rocks too. I was sent a confirmation email for each item shipped. So I knew when to except the packages to arrive. Assembly was easy. The only tricky part was the remote connection/wiring and that was resolved when my rep, Chuck Sent me the video on how to install the remote control. I am very very please either the Empire LP gas log set and would recommend this product.

Great unit

I'm pleased with my log set. The only problem was the 2 men who came from the gas company to install could not get the remote to work. I had to wait for approximately 2 weeks (due to holiday) to get an appointment for their "specialist" to come out. It actually only took him about 20 min. to get the remote going.

Excellent customer service

I was never able to use the product because of an error on my part in communicating with a contractor, so I had to return it without even removing it from its box. I hope to order it again when the work is finished in a few months. I can attest, however, to the incredible customer service of Woodland. Both the ordering and returning processes were absolutely seamless. The individual with whom I spoke on the phone about the return was one of the most helpful customer service folks I've ever encountered. If the product - once I'm able to order it again - is anything like the company's service culture, I have no doubt it will be spectacular.

I like my new gas stove and log set

I like it. The stove works great and event gets too hot sometimes. I paid an extra $300+ for the remote control but cannot understand how to install it. I could pay $100 to someone to come over and install that but the stove works just fine without it.

Empire Flint Hill 24-in

We are very pleased with our new gas fireplace ventless. It looks very real and was pretty easy to install. The existing gas line needed to be replaced since it was damaged. All in all we are very pleased. One note is the unit came with two different wiring diagrams. I wired my remote thermostat according to the manual. I should have wired it according to the metal tag that came with the burner. I didn't realize the metal tag had a schematic attached to it. However, both worked but I recommend following the middle tag schematic.

Not much heat radiating from unit
