Came promptly but have not used it yet as it is 90 degrees here and we only use the fireplace during the winter.

Ordering was helpful after talking to a company salesman. It came quickly and I put it in the fireplace right away. I just wish I could have gotten a larger one but the custom ones were pretty expensive.

The consumer must realize that the spaces between the bars is QUITE LARGE! Large pieces of firewood will naturally fall through the grate. The solution, I found, is to pay forty dollars ($40.) to have a screen made with smaller holes for the coals to fall. Otherwise, you're going to burn a LOT of wood UNNECESSARILY!

I'm a "Be American, Buy American" kind of guy... so take the following review for what you feel it's worth. positives: 1. Very sturdy 2. Solid construction 3. Accurate Dimensions negatives: 1. unless being too heavy counts, there are no negatives to report. But honestly, to me, heavy is good - steel should be heavy. Aluminum is light. If you want something you can move around easily, I promise it'll be lightweight garbage.

It s a good grate solid construction. The legs could be an inch or two higher. I burn oak for 8 to 10 hours. cast iron grates CAN T stand the heat they bend and fall apeart So far so good with this steel one.

This grate is awesome! Thick and massive! Makes our fireplace look much fuller and the wood burns exceptionally well!

Unit is built to last - have only had this for 1/2 year so far - but looks like it may last a few years Good to have a lifetime warranty - we will see if they honor it in a few years.

Well made. Heavy duty. Good height for air circulation. Good sides to hold much wood. Arrived in good time in heavy box. Very pleased and would order again. Do recommend. Excellent customer service.

24" deep forest lifetime grate 1" steel

Time will tell how it holds up, but seems like a grate [sic] product. I love the design and dimensions. I haven't built a fire yet (waiting for the winter solstice on 12/21), but I have little doubt that it will perform well. The packaging needs to be improved. It arrived with one foot poking out. Throwing it in two flimsy cardboard boxes is not sufficient. I'm sure the carriers don't appreciate it. I would rate it a 4 or 5 if it weren't for the matter of the lifetime warranty. That's an utter sham and fraud for which the company executives should be ashamed of themselves. Does it say anywhere on the website that the warranty is void if you don't remove all ashes immediately after every fire? That's like saying a car has a lifetime warranty and then when you get it home it says in the fine print that the warranty is void unless you replace all fluids and filters after every time you drive it. Packaging

The product itself is wonderful! It was easy to use your website. What we got is what we ordered. The packaging was a joke! The grate was loose in a cardboard box and had nearly come free by the time it got to our door. Parts of the grate had broken through and had gotten scuffed. It's not the shipping company's fault. My husband runs a trucking company, and I was appalled at the method. Charge another $2 and pack the ends with foam or recycled cardboard or something. Again, I'm not unhappy with the shopping experience or the product. I have pictures if you're interested.

attractive and rugged

waited too long to buy so excellent a piece of equipment. its heft is terrific and its welds are as strong as welds on a ship. no more cast iron for us.

Well Built

The grate looks well built and is heavy steel. We needed something that wouldn't burn up on us in one season! Haven't got to use this yet, but it looks like it should do the job. I will review again after this burn season.

Grate

We have only been using our Deep Forest grate about a week but we have been impressed with the quality of the grate so far. When it was delivered we could tell by the box and weight it was a heavy grill and since the bars are 1” steel we feel like it will give us many years of quality service. We’ve been buying the elcheapos and got tired of burning up a grate in the middle or late winter. We always had to buy 2 at a time so we would have one when the other one gave out. After this fire season I will come back and give you a more up to date informed review. The reason I rated the grate a 5 star now is the because of the difference in the quality of material.
