Deep Forest Lifetime Grate

I have a wood burning Fuego Flame fireplace insert. I love the insert but hate the grate supplied by Fuego. I’m not sure what the grate for this insert is made of but after about a month of weekend fires it starts collapsing or sagging in the middle. After a couple months of use the middle of the grate is touching the floor of the insert. Eventually the half-inch steel bars will even burn right through. This is not a common sized grate either, so every year I have had to order a replacement grate from Fuego for $70 ! Back in February of 2009 I ordered a custom-made Deep Forest lifetime fireplace grate for my Fuego insert from Woodland Direct. When I received the grate I was amazed at how accurately it was made to my drawings. It was exactly the same size as the Fuego grate, except it was about 5 pounds heaver. Since I received it at the end of the wood-burning season I didn’t get a chance to use it until mid-November 2009. I have been using it for a couple months now and I must say that I am truly impressed. It has not sagged nor has the metal begun to burn through like the Fuego grate. It is still solid, sturdy and looks great. Initially I figured if I got three years out of this grate I would come out a head since it cost about twice the Fuego grate costs. Now I don’t see any reason for it to last five years or longer making it a very worth while investment. I can see why you call it the lifetime fireplace grate.Thanks for a great grate!!

Very disappointed

We paid well over $300 for a custom heavy grate as we use our fireplace every day to heat our home. Within 2 months it was sagging and becoming misshapen badly. We thought it would at least last out the winter. Very disappointing.

I could not find a grate that would fit our fireplace. I ordered this one special made it fit perfect and was much heavier than any other grate I found, It was just what I was looking for thanks..

Custom Grate

I ordered this custom grate when I found that a standard store bought grate would not fit my large fireplace. My local fireplace store suggested I order from Woodland Direct and gave me the contact information. I am very satisfied with the product. It is very well made and sturdy, far superior to my previous grate. I anticipate it will last for many years.
