Excellent Rug -- Exactly As Described
The color matches what I see on screen, and charcoal grey is a good color for hiding ash and burnt embers until they are cool and vacuumed. I am so happy to have a carpet solution that truly doesn't burn!
Hearth rug
We think the hearth rug is great. The only chang that would make it better for us would be if it was longer like even 6' and that their was something to keep it from sliding around...But all that said...We love the rug. Elaine

I searched high and low for a 5 ft. wide hearth rug to protect a newly installed wood floor. The odd shaped platform of the stove made protecting the front sides impossible, but this was wide enough to reach totally across the entire front of the platform. It's not fancy or beautiful, but it has caught embers that would otherwise have burned my new floor, and I'm so glad that I found this product. Shipping was timely, as well.

I purchased a charcoal gray flame retardant rug for my fireplace not only is exactly how described it was shipped promptly and by mistake I ordered 2 and woodland was very helpful told me how to send back and within 2wks my credit card was credited back to my account although now I should have kept extra rug because I really love my rug.
Fireplace Rug
This rug would be perfect and I would really be happy with it except that it has a flaw in the material across one spot and I am not so happy about that. The quality otherwise is excellent and it is too bad someone did not see this flaw before shipping it to me. I did not return it because I needed it when I got it and it would have taken a lot of time and effort to return it.

Unfortunately, before I gave my father the gift of the hearth rug, I was informed that he would be moving...and would have no fireplace. So while I do not know if the rug would have been good, I can say that the custormer service was polite, efficient, and even sympathetic. I would reccommend woodland direct on those points alone.

Rug
i was very happy with the look of this mat, when i received it! we definitely put it under heavy use. the binding around the straight edge, took a lot of hits from the embers and put a few holes in it. as for the mat as a whole, a few embers hit in different areas, putting indentations in the mat, but they didn't go all the way through. there was no smoking or burning smell. it definitely protected my hardwood floor and i'm very pleased with this product.

Order arrived in good condition with protective packaging intact. Product was exactly what we wanted for our application. Due to the nature of the material utilized in the construction, it took several days to flatten out the curled corners (product rolled up for shipment), but now is perfect.

Color
I'd sent an email asking about the color. If it was more like a Black or brown color. I was told it was Charcoal. Little disappointed cause when arrived it has a very distinquised Blue Trim piece around the outside of rug. Rug is also an actual Gray Blue. Not really the color I wanted. But it doesn't look as though you have a Black or Dark Brown in the 5' Rugs.

Love the new mat. It is really black. The half moon fits exactly at the hearth. I could not be happier.
shipping condition
Product is well made and to specification measurements. Package was smashed and open at the end. Without a heavy cardboard tube in the center of rolled rug, product was heavily creased. It seems to be relaxing with time, but is rippled. Shipping handling can be rough with heavy product thrown on to of yours.
Excellent Hearth Rug
We purchased as a replacement for our prior Guardian rug, which after 10 years is showing its age. Extremely happy with the charcoal color and we are sure it will last just as long as our prior one. Easy purchasing process and received within 3 days.
