Q:
How would you fasten this to a masonry chimney?
A:
The flanges on the outside of the mesh at the base are screwed into the top of the chimney using concrete screws supplied with the cap. Make sure to drill pilot holes to avoid cracking the cement crown. Silicone adhesive is also provided for additional security and is placed below the flanges before screwing them into place.

How much roof overhang is there beyond the mesh sides of the chimney cap?
A:
There is a 2" overhang all the way around on these chimney caps.
Q:
What is the stainless steel type and what gauge is the cap?
A:
The lid is 22 gauge and the wire mesh is 18 gauge. Both are made of 304 stainless steel.

Fantastic Ridge Cap
Was amazed at the quality of work that had been put into our custom fit cap! I loved how it comes with silicone and installation hardware to make things a breeze, although i did not install mine with screws as i was having my chimneys reworked and so we simply pressed our ridge cap down into the mortar for a nice strong long lasting product. The great thing is there are 4 nuts on top that you can loosen to still gain access for whatever reason in the future

Expected more for $400
I called and was supposed to get a call back. A few minor dents and scratches. Loosely packed inside a large box which was too big for the unit. Had to hide the dents on the backside. Part of the joints don’t line up or were cut a little long.

sturdy chimney cap
Very good quality product, well made and easy to assemble and install. They even include a concrete drill bit to ease the installation. Would highly recommend.
