The Cast Iron Ash Dump door is designed to fit an opening the same size as a fire brick which is 4 1/2" x 9"

Ash Dump
I built my own house 25 years ago. I still have all the receipts in a shoe box. The original cast iron ash dump made in Brazil broke in half. I could not find the maker of the item. I didn't know if another brand would fit the hole in the fire place. Your product was a perfect fit. It is thicker and appears all around to be stronger and more durable. I placed the two ash dumps side by side; the difference is obvious. You can see and feel the difference. I can regulate the air from underneath with a poker and regulate the burn in my fireplace. Thank you. And thank you to the people at the foundry in Tennessee. Made in America.

Perfect Fit
Since the fireplace in my home was custom built by my father, I was very concerned when I needed a replacement ash dump. I was thoroughly surprised to find one that not only fit, but matched the aesthetic as well. This is a high quality, heavy cast that fits the box and functions smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better item.
