With a properly prepaired materials base the starting of a fire is very easy and not as difficult as with a liquid starter. Woodlands product Burns clean and starts the fire properly,in addition the cost seems quite reasonable.

We bought these for my father in law for Christmas and he absolutely loves them! They work very fast and are quite effective. I was even able to get a fire started one night using them, and I am an amateur when it comes to building fires. These are a great product!

Review of Squares

The first attempt at the using 2 squares to start a fire in our fireplace was not a success, so I had to try 2 more- Then I figured that I did not have the right placement to allow it to work right. I placed them on a piece or two of smaller branches or pieces of leftover logs from the previous fires and since that time, I have had no problem starting the fire with two squares. Pleased with the product and a good value!

Very good product

I experience these fire starters when I was away from home and then bought them for my own fireplace. I have natural gas that I can use to start fires, but I actually prefer these fire starter squares. The squares light quite easily and burn well enough and log enough to get a good fire going. I usually use two squares with 16-18" logs and it is sufficient.
