Just like their name suggests, Superior Fireplaces is dedicated to creating outstanding, high quality fireplaces—a commitment that goes all the way back to 1932. The Superior Fireplaces of today, however, isn’t entirely the same as the one that began in the first half of the 20th century. Though the company can trace its lineage back to the 1930s, today’s Superior has been reborn and remade.
This remaking began at the turn of the millennium. At that time, well-known HVAC manufacturer Lennox Industries acquired Superior and five other hearth companies, then combined them to create Lennox Hearth Products (LHP). In 2012, LHP merged with Fireplace Manufacturers Inc. (FMI) to become Innovative Hearth Products (IHP). Superior was then reborn as a brand of IHP.
“Superior is an old brand with a new engine,” explains Mike Vennard, Woodland Direct’s Sales Manager. “They have a rich history with a great track record. As a company today, they’re very forward thinking—they’re always looking to challenge the industry and give the consumer exactly what they’re looking for.”
As part of the IHP merger, Superior’s manufacturing was moved from Union City, TN, to a state-of-the-art facility in Russellville, AL. While the old Superior was designed to support builders, the expanded manufacturing capabilities of the Russellville facility allowed the new Superior to expand its product line and directly support homeowners. Today, they offer a full line of hearth products for both builders and consumers: wood and pellet stoves, gas stoves, linear fireplaces, direct vent fireplaces, fireplace inserts, gas logs, and even outdoor fireplaces.
“If you want a fireplace, Superior will have something for you,” says Steve McGrath, Assistant Sales Manager. “Whether you want something very simple, or very complex, or anything in between, they’ve got you covered.”
“...they’re always looking to challenge
the industry and give the consumer
exactly what they’re looking for.”
Superior offers very basic model fireplaces, all the way up to top-of-line, fully upgraded luxury models. They have something for everyone, and that’s their unique strength. They carefully watch the hearth industry and trends in society in order to give customers exactly what they’re looking for. For Woodland Direct, partnering with such a quality brand was a no-brainer.
“Superior is one of our go-to brands because they’re so flexible,” says Jeremy Kline, Assistant Sales Manager. “They’ve got pretty much anything we’re looking for—it’s rare that they don’t. In design, styling, functionality, price point, lead times—they’ve got it all.”
Vennard agrees. “It’s true that their name is their promise. Superior really stands behind their products.”
For all these reasons, it’s easy to love Superior. Beyond their long history and flexibility in product options, their fireplaces are also very affordable and supported by great warranties. Woodland Direct has grown to trust them as a company—so much so that we’ve built a manufacturer-direct relationship with them. We work hand-in-hand with them in order to bring more value to you as the customer. They’ve even directly trained our sales team, and we keep their units in our own warehouse, enabling us to deliver them faster to you.
"It’s true that their name is their promise.
Superior really stands behind their products."
Woodland Direct is proud to bring such an outstanding brand to our customers. But don’t take our word for it—order a Superior fireplace to find out for yourself why we love them.
