Disappointed in quality. Rug is very thin, the wrinkles from shipping are not coming out. Looks and feels cheap.

Nice, thick, attractive

Previously I had one of the absolutely fireproof fiberglass hearth rugs. And it was definitely firePROOF. I even had a burning orange-hot log roll on it, and I just picked it up with my fireproof gauntlets and threw it back in the stove. But it was ugly and stiff and the edge-binding frayed.So I decided to try wool. Very attractive, nice proportions -- doesn't look quite so fingernail-thin as in the picture. So far I have not had to test its fire-retardant properties, but I am being a lot more careful than I had to be with the fiberglass. I only gave it a 4 because it is not fireproof, only fire-resistant.

Quality Rug

This is a premium hearth rug. Very well made with excellent materials. In the past I have purchased wool rugs that looked good for a few months but shortly there after the edges would curl and the rug would bunch up and no longer lay flat. This is a beautiful rug well worth the price.
