What is a Burner and How Does It Work?

A burner is the main component of a gas fire pit that produces flames by distributing fuel (Natural Gas or Propane) through a series of ports or holes. Burners are typically made of stainless steel or brass to withstand high heat and outdoor conditions. They come in many different shapes, sizes, styles, and unique configurations to fit almost any desired flame display.

Gas fire pit burners connect to a gas supply and are ignited either manually with a match or automatically with an electronic ignition system. Once ignited, the gas flows through the burner, creating flames that can be adjusted for intensity and heat output. Fire media, such as lava rocks or fire glass, is often placed over the burner to enhance the look and distribute heat more evenly.

What is the difference between Natural Gas and Propane fire pit burners?
