The 25" Stronghold Zero Clearance Lifetime Fireplace Grate arrived in excellent condition and I was very please to see how good of quality the grate was. The grate is already in use and works like a champ. The Kleer View Glass & Hearth cleaner for the price is unbeatable works much better than the high price cleaners we were using. I will definitely purchase from Woodland Direct in the future.

Good for shallow fireplace

The grate arrived without incident. It was adequately packaged. We needed a fireplace grate which was as shallow as possible from front to back, and this met the need. if you are in that situation, I recommend it. If you have the space I would suggest getting the standard type. This design does limit the placement of logs. I am very pleased that it is available because some fireplaces require it. It is well-made and we expect it to last many seasons.

This is the best grate !!! We were not able to have successful fires in our prefab manufactured fireplace until this one... we needed one that was low to the floor of the fireplace and we are now able to enjoy perfect fires !

I was looking for a grate for my fireplace a friend of mine said that he had bought one from Woodland and that his wife was unable to melt it down so I said that is worth looking at because I to was looking for one that won't melt down. I looked at them on line seen that they were made really good and the fact that they would replace it if my wife did melt it down I felt that it was a pretty good deal!

Fabulous Customer Service!

Have purchased three items from Woodland Direct and they are all top quality and arrived very quickly. Customer Service is excelling at advice and recommendations. This grate is good for smaller fireplaces, like an insert, as it is lower to the ground and not too deep (11", I believe). It's heavy!, which is good for durability but more difficult for lifting out of fireplace for cleaning. I would purchase this again without hesitation.

The legs were protruding from holes in the box, and the paint was scuffed when I received it (not really a big deal, since it is hardly visible when in the fireplace). Bought this grate to replace original that came with zero clearance fireplace. Original had 4 bars, a wobbly base and no way to keep logs from rolling off the back. The new one addresses all those issues and should be a vast improvement. And well worth the price

Best Grate Ever

We have a fire at our house almost every night throughout the winter. We bought one of these grates 8 years ago and it has withstood my very hot fires! Just bought this second one for a new outdoors fireplace. This is the best!!!

Fire Grate

I seriously don't think I'll burn through this fire grate. So I'll give it a 5 rating. I didn't see the special order link otherwise I would have ordered a grate 2' deeper with the same amount of bar's. My fault. I'm still very happy with my purchase.

My mistake

I have no complaint about the inherent quality of this fireplace grate. It doesn’t work well for me because it is too small for my fireplace. That is, of course, my fault. I should have measured my my old grate and thought it through before I made this purchase.

I’ve purchased at least a half dozen fireplace grates all of which have succumbed to the intense heat of the fireplace. I decided to spend a little more money and get a lifetime grate. This bad boy is extremely sturdy and fits perfectly. It’s probably twice as thick as the big box grates. The price was right and shipping was quick. Very happy with my purchase.

I thought a 25 inch wide grate would be deeper. Just too shallow I wish it was three or 4 inches deeper.

Meets Expectations

Because I added a fireback to make my masonry fireplace distribute more heat into the room, the fireback forced me to move my current grate a couple inches forward. This moved the fire itself toward the front of the fireplace, and this shift of just a couple inches caused some smoke to enter the house instead of going up the flue. So I needed a new grate that was just as wide as my existing one, but not quite as deep. Woodland Direct offered a grate with not only the exact dimensions I wanted, but also in a heavy-duty, 3/4" metal. I've had experience with grates in a smaller fireplace that were made with a smaller gage metal, and after a few years the smaller metal had burned through several sections. So I definitely wanted the 3/4" version. Woodland Direct's shipment arrived as scheduled, and is exactly what I wanted.

Heavy duty

I wish I would’ve read the description better. This is a heavy duty piece, no doubt it will last many many years. The problem is it’s so small. I couldn’t even use it in my fireplace. The wood we burn is bigger than this grate and you can’t stack any on it. If you burn 3-4” logs it should suite you well. If you cut and split 30” logs, get a bigger size, or weld sections in like I will do.

Very Sturdy but Narrow

As advertised this fireplace grate is very sturdy and I don’t see it melting or warping at any point. It is a little more narrow (front to back) than I expected which makes organizing the initial and adding wood to the fire a little awkward but it is not a big inconvenience.

Very narrow

This is a very thick and heavy grate but be aware it is very very narrow. You can get about one log on the bottom. For a deep or high stone fireplace it is way too narrow and hard to load. We had to buy another grate.

Fireplace grate

Our old grate basically disintegrated. That is what happens when you buy cheap. So I went for quality here, LIFETIME guarantee and Woodland Direct did not disappoint. I learned accurate info on exactly what you need in your fireplace. The correct size, difference between steel and cast iron....did I mention this is a LIFETIME grate?! Hee Hee I was surprised at the affordability and quick delivery. They even have lave rock for your outdoor fire pits and so much more. You want an expert in their field, you get it here. We noticed a difference on first fire with new grate. Burning through less wood and we shake our heads that we waited so long to make this purchase. Better late than never and cozy season is in high gear and enjoying our love of a roaring fire. If you are on the fence...gently step off and order.

Great Grate
