This 25" Lifetime grate can't be beat. The 6" bottom clearance makes fires start & burn better & hotter. The mesh keeps embers & small pieces in the cradle which makes it easier to start & keep burning. It also lets you slow the fire- when the room gets too hot- and then build it up again. I love this grate!!!!!! Price was right, no tax & shipping & it was only $37.00 more than the last grate, from a hardware store, that burned through in only 4 seasons. Sturdy Grate

This is a very sturdy grate, the ember screen does hold many of the embers in place which is great if your seasoned fire wood is not so seasoned....

Quality-This is an awesome product. You get what you pay for and this grate did not disappoint. Would recommend Woodland to my family and friends without hesitation. Service- I ordered this grate and had it in a few days. I made a mistake in the sizing of the grate. (again my fault). I contacted Woodland and spoke with Hannah and Lynden, they were very very pleasant and easy to work with. I reordered and sent the grate back. I received the other grate with in a few days. Quality Product

Solid and quality construction. Good clearance height raises the logs up for nice viewing of the fire through the fire door in my flush hearth fireplace.

Great Product

Thank you for manufacturing a truly great fireplace grate. We are impressed by the workmanship and materials used. Although we are in Northern California and don't receive freezing cold snowy winters, we typically burn 3 to 4 full cords of almond wood each season. This has been a tradition for almost the entire 20 years we have lived in this home. We have been using the new grate for the last week. because of the ember mesh, we are using much less wood and the fire is every bit as hot. And the wood burns more completely leaving much less ash.That's a huge plus. I only have a couple of recommendations for your consideration. We probably should have purchased the grate that is one size larger. The "spec" that are listed are for the width of the feet and I thought they were for the bars/tines at the top. So we could have gone with the 28" which I will order next time if and when this one wears out. I'm curious as to whether or not you have ever wrapped the ember mesh a couple of inches up the back and or front of the bars/tines? I'm not sure if that would help keep the embers from falling out even better. Again, thank you for manufacturing a superior product. We are very very pleased with our purchase. Wish I had found you years ago!

Great quality.

This is a very well made grate. I like that it keeps the coals up against the logs so it burns very efficiently. Seems to be less ash after the fire and it is much finer then in the past. So far the quality seems to be very good and I would buy again.

Fantastic Grate

Our old grate (probably as old as the house) was warped by many years of use and no longer fit above the gas pipe. We need a high grate and Woodland Direct was one of the few places that had one in stock. The grate itself is very solid and well made. It arrived in only 2 days. Well-built grate, but fires kick out less heat

Extremely well-built grate - no doubt this will last a LONG time. We use this in a large, open indoor fireplace 3-4 nights per week. With the ember screen, there is noticeably less ash to clean out. We’re also using less wood than with our old open grate, but the fireplace doesn’t kick out as much heat either. My guess is that the embers that fell through the grate added a lot of heat to the room, but with this grate they’re contained and keep the fire going with less fuel. Works great for us because our family room would almost get too hot after a few hours, but that’s something I think should be noted in the description.

Sturdy fireplace ember grate

Fantastic construction and functionality! The heavy weight materials should insure a lifetime of use. I used the ember fire grate the day I received it (2 days ahead of schedule). It was the first time I had used an ember catching grate. The burn was even temperature and complete - only fine ash remained at the bottom of the hearth.

Heavy duty

This is a very heavy duty grate. My only issue was that it is so high because of the long legs and high front that it limits the size of wood that we could put in our fireplace. After cutting the legs and front bars shorter it was perfect.

very sturdy

extremely solidly made. i've already used it about a dozen times and it works great. embers are caught in the screen keeping the fire going longer than before. based on the craftmanship i expect the product to last for a very long time.
